Neo4j has proven to be the go-to data management solution in use cases such as Fraud Detection, Knowledge Graphs, Recommendation and personalisation, Risk management, Security, IT Management and Network Operations and many more.
In the Neo4j Sales Engineering team, we are technologists who enjoy working directly with customers in a variety of industries, and with a wide range of technologies and architectures. We provide engineering and architecture leadership and development for the Neo4j-based solutions our customers are building.
The responsibilities of a Sales Engineer cover a variety of tasks starting from understanding the prospective customers needs and environment, transforming the needs into an architecture including our leading-edge graph database technology and guiding all involved parties through the sales process. Demonstrating Neo4j as a technology for specific domains, whiteboarding solution architectures, and engaging at the level of technical decision makers are examples of the day-by-day work. The Sales Engineer understands business terminology, thinks in technical terms and combines both sides during the entire engagement.
In addition to being Graph Database experts, you will need to understand and position other architectural components in a graph-based solution, such as Big Data platforms, other NoSQL stores, relational databases, caching, messaging and middleware services taking part in a Modern Data Architecture.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with customers: You will play a central role in Neo4j PreSales projects and foster strong partnerships with customer teams.
- Sales Team Contribution: You will be a key player within the Neo4j sales department, representing the benefits of graph database solutions
- Technical Alignment: Ensure seamless integration of Neo4j solutions into the customer's technical ecosystem.
- Client Consultations: Contribute to the formulation of solution recommendations that are aligned with the client's technical and business objectives.
- Solution Elaboration: Develop and present Neo4j-based prototypes that exemplify desired functionalities.
Key Role Characteristics:
- Background: Minimum 5 years of experience in PreSales or Professional Services, preferably in automotive and manufacturing.
- Database Skills: Deep understanding of database platforms, with a preference for NoSQL variants.
- Solution Design: Proficiency in bridging business objectives to technical solutions.
- Technical Savvy: Knowledge of software development and familiarity with languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Advisory Collaboration: Demonstrated success in guiding engineering teams from a consultative stance.
- Technical Adaptability: An innate curiosity and quickness to adopt new technologies.
- Problem Solving Skills: An enthusiasm for addressing and surmounting tech-centric challenges.
- Instructional Abilities: Skill in leading educational sessions for smaller cohorts.
- Technical Sales Experience: Acumen in managing the technical facets of the sales process.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Self-Initiative: Self-starter who thrives in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel aligned with the job demands.
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Graph Database Skills: Knowledge of graph database platforms, particularly Neo4j or similar systems.
