Job Description

Carbyne Stack is an emerging open-source, cloud-native platform for enterprise-grade Computing on Encrypted Data (CoED) that enables large-scale processing of always-encrypted data (see ). Carbyne Stack development provides many opportunities for talented students to leverage their existing skills and develop new ones. Some examples where your contributions would be greatly appreciated are:

• You design and implement new features and microservices for the Carbyne Stack platform using cloud-native technology in the backend, client libraries, or the Command Line Interface (CLI).
• Futhermore you enhance and extend our existing CI/CD infrastructure to build and deploy Carbyne Stack in an automated and reproducible manner.
• You develop and test Infrastructure-as-Code machinery to deploy Carbyne Stack to major public clouds.
• In addition, we are very open to your ideas on how to further improve Carbyne Stack.

Qualifications

• Education: studies in the technical field or comparable
• Experience and Knowledge: proficient in Java (ideally with Spring) and/or Go, experience with the following cloud-native technologies for orchestration (Kubernetes including Kubebuilder/Operator SDK), networking (Istio), serverless computing (Knative), authentication and authorization (e.g., Open Policy Agent, Dex), monitoring (Prometheus), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm), experience with open source projects and with public clouds (Azure, AWS) before is a plus
• Personality and Working Practice: reliable, self-motivated and innovative
• Enthusiasm: interested in learning new things at the intersection of cloud-native and Computing on Encrypted Data technologies

Additional Information

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 months – 10 h/week (extension possible)
