Job description

We are looking for an IT specialist who is strong with VBA but has modern programming languages as we will be switching from VBA to a more modern framework. This individual will wear multiple hats and need to understand networking, deskside support plus any other user issues that can and will come up in a day to day situation.

Advantages
There will be occasional after hours work and some travel to Montreal and Vancouver involved as well.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
 Extract data from SAP Business Warehouse to support managerial reporting needs
 Prepare sales reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information
 Adapt to new technologies and database interfaces including Sales Analytics Cloud and QLIK

 Configure various technical equipment (laptops, VC systems, VoIP, mobile phones and more)
 Troubleshoot hardware and software issues (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
 Troubleshoot LAN, WAN and VPN connectivity issues
 Monitor web performance, network availability and security
 Provide technical support to users across Canada
 Set up equipment for new users
 Maintenance of Telecommunication systems

 Assist with servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi
Technology and more
 Keep computers up to date with operating system upgrades
 Assist with implementation and ongoing support of new software and features
 Provide on-site technical support in Montreal and Vancouver as needed.
 Occasional off-hours duty to permit timely attention to mission-critical functions.

Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
 Proficient in creation of Excel pivot tables and pivot charts
 Proficient in Excel complex formulas
 Good knowledge of procedural programming and an ability to create VBA user defined functions
and procedures
 Able to create Excel forms and the corresponding executable code for interactive dialogues
 Able to create clean, organized, documented code (scripts)
 Familiar with object oriented programming and methods including data encapsulation when
required
 Create and update automated programs for generating custom reports, charts and graph
 Knowledgeable of data scopes for variables, functions and procedures
 Knowledgeable of memory management within VBA programs
 Troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the Excel debugging tools and error trapping
 Proficient at integrating VBA worksheets with Outlook email
 In depth understanding of Operating Systems and networks
 Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
 Proficiency with VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other aspects of network security
 Experience configuring and troubleshooting various technical equipment (laptops, PCs,
Videoconference systems, mobile phones, paper and label printers, TVs, scanners etc.)
 Attention to detail
 Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
 Ability to prioritize and manage time
 Discretion and confidentiality
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
