Job description

Position : Senior Human Resources Generalist
Location : Greater Toronto Area

Our client is looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate will work within the Human Resources Department, providing support to all areas related to compensation planning, and overseeing benefits. Additional responsibilities within payroll processing, and regular communication with employees. You will be part of a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment, where teamwork is valued and promoted. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow, as new ideas and initiatives are always encouraged.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, business, or equivalent experience, CPHR designation an asset
- At least 5 years of human resources experience, including direct, hands-on experience in managing employment issues in Canada
- Experience working with manufacturing (hourly) employees and professional (salary) employees and various levels of management
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- Proven ability to organize and facilitate multiple projects with stakeholders across the organization
- Self driven with ability to work within a team
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel with the ability to create, obtain and update large amounts of data

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the development and administration of HR policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, training, HR data
- Deliver HR training provided by the CEOs to managers and employees, such as new manager onboarding, customize content for client groups as needed
- Manage, with input from manager and in cooperation with other HR colleagues, all voluntary terminations, and reductions in force, including planning, costing, and documentation
- Ensure local policies, procedures and employment documents are up to date according to local legal requirements
- Support HR, within plant operations, regarding HR functions, programs, and policies
- Use internal systems to acquire, track and complete HR reports
- Maintain people database (HCM) and employee files
