Supports all services lines and programs at SCH. Collaborates with the Regional Physicians, Department Heads, and the Region in the review and access of Patients at SCH. Provides educational updates and functions as a resource within the Region. In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Educator, participates in education of RN's, i.e. TNCC/ACLS/PALS. Supports research in all service lines and programs. Represents Emergency SCH on the code blue committee. Participates on unit and regional quality committees for best practice guidelines and enhancing quality care. Participates in development, monitoring and evaluation of protocols, guidelines and standards of care in collaboration with Physician and Nursing staff. Primary responsibility to support, preceptor and mentor staff in all aspects of Emergency Nursing care. Provides leadership and support to ER staff and back-up support to the MON. Acts as a role model.

Additional Information

Knowledge of and experience in quality assurance initiatives. Knowledge of current trends, issues and perspectives of Nursing in Emergency. Knowledge of the role of Emergency services within the entire health system. Critical care experience will be considered. Postgraduate course in Emergency Nursing is preferred. PALS Instructor or TNCC certification preferred, but not required. Those possessing one or more are encouraged to apply. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
