Job description
SeekTeachers is currently recruiting for an experienced and committed Head of Library to join our established client in Shanghai this August. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a new learning hub for the recently opened and expanding Middle School campus.
Key responsibilities:
*Oversee the library collection and ensure effective storage, access to and loan of teacher resources
*Establish and ensure the library policies are implemented
*Ensure a safe and attractive environment for all students
*Oversee the development of a curriculum for library skills, information literacy skills, and research skills across Middle School age range
*Collaborate with Primary School and High School teacher librarians to implement a consistent and cohesive library curriculum is offered across Y1-12
*Teach students how to locate print and online sources, and how to use the library catalog and resources
*Teach students research skills and information literacy, media literacy skills
*Plan units with subject teams and offer suggestions to use the library sources
*Support teachers with resources across all curriculum areas
*Collaborate with teaching staff on special events – such as Book Week
*Actively participate in professional networks locally and internationally
*Gather and analyse data regarding book use and using this to focus on future purchases
*Coordinate roles and daily tasks of library staff
*Responsible for the appraisal of library staff
*Facilitate professional development for teaching staff in library use
*Develop and administer the library budget
To be a successful candidate, you need:
**Bachelor degree and above in Library Information or relevant subject
**Have a min of 3 years experience in the educational industry, additional teaching field(s) preferred
**Experience working in an International School and/or setting a plus
**Valid librarian qualification is mandatory
**Experience with second language learners preferred

Salary Range:
A salary CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
