Description The
Carpenter-Joiner plays a crucial role within a company specialized in construction and renovation projects for buildings. They are responsible for the fabrication, installation, and repair of wooden structures and various carpentry elements, contributing to the completion of high-quality construction projects.
Responsibilities •Read and interpret plans, schematics, and drawings to understand project specifications.
•Build and assemble wooden structural elements such as beams, posts, and trusses using hand and power tools.
•Install wooden structures including wall frames, floors, roofs, and exterior cladding.
•Take precise measurements and employ appropriate cutting techniques to adjust materials according to project requirements.
•Install and adjust doors, windows, stairs, and other carpentry elements as per client specifications.
•Perform finishing work such as installing trim, molding, and other decorative wooden elements.
•Repair and restore damaged or faulty wooden structures by replacing defective parts and conducting renovation work.
•Ensure compliance with safety standards on the construction site and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
•Collaborate with other construction team members including carpenters, masons, and electricians to ensure project cohesion.
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment by tidying up tools and materials at the end of each workday.
•Perform any other related tasks, specific tasks may vary depending on project needs and client requirements.
Requirements •Degree in carpentry-joinery or equivalent experience.
•Previous experience as a carpenter-joiner in construction, preferably in residential or commercial construction, an asset.
•Thorough knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in carpentry and joinery.
•Advanced skills in reading plans and interpreting technical specifications.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of organization and attention to detail.
•Good physical condition, with the ability to lift and manipulate heavy materials.
•Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
•Certification in construction site health and safety is advantageous.
