Location: On-Site (Stratford, ON)
Duties:
Reports to Manager of Engineering. Inspects infrastructure construction projects to ensure conformity to required standards.
Work Performed:
- Examine plans, drawings, and specifications for municipal construction projects and subdivision servicing projects.
- Provide inspection for construction of sewer systems, water systems, and roads for engineering and development construction projects. Inspect construction for conformance to drawings, specifications, engineering standards or other applicable regulations.
- Provide inspection for related site developments.
- Review construction sites and working areas to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained as per established regulations and standards.
- Coordinate field tests as required.
- Maintain records, field books documentation and forms and completes inspection reports as required.
- Investigates complaints and questions from residents, property owners and businesses regarding work on or near their property.
- Maintains statistical data and departmental records as required utilizing computers.
- Refers special and/or unusual situations to the Manager for direction.
- Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Community College Diploma (2 years) in Civil Engineering Technician or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3-6 months related professional experience.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class G).
Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
