The Receptionist role provides reception services for the municipality at various locations throughout the City of Cambridge. Reporting to the Supervisor of Service Cambridge, the following duties will apply:
Providing quality customer service at City facilities
Responding to telephone and counter inquiries
Completes various registrations and verifies all payment transactions
Following cash handling procedures, balances and accounts for all monies during shift
Unlocking and locking all areas as required, arming and disarming security system
Assist with accidents and incidents as required
Familiar with building emergency procedures
Takes accurate accounts of statistics
Administering duties as assigned by Customer Service Representative, CSR coordinator or Supervisor of Service Cambridge
High school Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (preferred) OR must be enrolled/attending high school and working towards achieving Grade 12 OSSD.
One year experience in reception/clerical role (asset)
Customer service skills (asset)
Proficient math skills
Accounting or cash handling skills (asset)
Must be available to work a minimum of two (2) shifts per week (shifts hours vary between 3-5 hours/shift and may include days, evenings, and weekends depending on needs and availability)
On-the-job training will be provided
Proof of your current Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (if applicable)
Current and valid Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
The hourly rate for this position is $20.90.
This position is assigned hours at service counters in the facilities covered by Service Cambridge which includes: W.G. Johnson Centre, David Durward Centre, Cambridge Centre for the Arts, John Dolson Centre, Allen Reuter Centre, William E. Pautler Centre. Hours will be scheduled based on operational needs.
Hours of work will be scheduled by the supervisor or designate to assist with coverage as needed. There are no minimum hours of work associated with this position.
