Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 09 , MIN $5,730.00- MAX $6,882.00is available through annual general wage/step increases.
Recruitment Range : MIN $5,730.00 – STEP 3 $6,367.00.
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

The Purchasing Agent supports the Supply Services group by coordinating and arranging all transportation logistics to achieve a delivery of materials, parts and services. This individual will also conduct cost analysis and resolve any receiving and billing discrepancies. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, someone who enjoys problem solving and has a keen eye for detail.
Please note that this position will work on site at our Langford depot five days per week.

We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:
• Courses completed in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, supply chain or procurement
• Experience in a computerized purchasing and inventory control environment acquiring skills in researching and obtaining quotations from suppliers, monitoring re-order levels, effective internal and external communication, and proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet application
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
• APICS, Supply Chain or Procurement certifications is an asset
• Knowledge of public sector procurement practices is an asset
• Proven communication skills, both verbally and written
• Ability to analyze information while using critical thinking
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
