Duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting the store manager in all areas of daily business operations, human resources, customer service and merchandising.
- Coordinating, monitoring and reporting on daily operations.
- Recruiting, training and supervising employees.
- Managing employee schedules, conducting performance reviews and enforcing disciplinary actions.
- Monitoring and maintaining suitable store inventory levels.
- Assisting with the development of new sales and recruitment strategies.
- Ensuring the store environment complies with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, organized and aesthetically pleasing storefront.
- Serves customers by training staff and purchasing and displaying products.
- Trains store staff by reviewing and revising sales training materials, delivering training sessions, reviewing job performance
- Evaluates competition by visiting competing stores to gather information about attributes, such as style, quality, presentation, and pricing of competitive merchandise.
- Purchases inventory by researching emerging products, anticipating buyer interest, negotiating volume price breaks, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of orders.
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school or diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a retail salesperson or sales clerk, cashier, telemarketer, or door-to-door salesperson.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating creativity and meeting challenging schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
- Positive, proactive, and collaborative team player.
