Develop an independent research program in the field of food sciences and, more particularly, on the physicochemistry, structure, and properties of foods. Teach undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate food science programs. Teach undergraduates and graduate students in food science. Supervise graduate students in food science. Participate in Department and Faculty pedagogical and administrative planning committees. Selection criterias Academic background:
- B.Sc. (or equivalent) in food science and technology or related discipline
- Ph.D. in food sciences or related program
Post-doctoral experience in food science or equivalent relevant practical experience in this field Expertise in food science with emphasis on foods’ structure and physicochemical properties. It also includes expertise in understanding the impact of processing processes on food constituents, all dimensions of food quality (organoleptic, sensory, nutritional, etc.), and the structure-function relationship of food constituents. Advanced knowledge and expertise in experimental methodologies related to compositional analysis and the characterization of the physicochemical properties of foods and their by-products. Demonstrated capability to propose a feasible original research program. Demonstrated teamwork capability and experience collaborating with industry. Possess a record of recent scientific achievement and competitiveness for provincial and federal programs of granting and funding with a reasonable expectation of contribution to teaching activities in the food science department. Teaching experience is an asset for this position. French spoken and written at a high level of fluency. Conditions Conditions This is a full-time tenure-track professorship position. The pay scale and salary are determined according to the university staff collective bargaining agreement.
