Under the supervision of the Regional Director, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, the Director - Continuous Improvement is responsible for overseeing the amelioration of internal processes currently in force within ANDRITZ Hydro North America. The person playing this key role will also be answerable for implementing a continuous improvement culture across the organization in a spirit of employee mobilization. 


What will you do ?
The two following areas of responsibilities form the core of this role in our North American team. 

Continuous improvement management :
•    Lead a team of professionals specialized in continuous improvement;
•    Oversee, facilitate and lead root cause analysis as well as identify applicable and feasible solutions;
•    Initiate, drive, coordinate, and control improvement projects while giving full support to departmental initiatives;
•    Organize and facilitate policy deployment as well as Hoshin Kanri plans and reviews;
•    Provide expertise in continuous improvement and will also train and coach advanced improvement methods and tools;
•    Conceive, direct and execute complex improvement projects;
•    Implement process assessment and conduct internal audits;
•    Further develop the continuous improvement process within the existing management system;
•    Work with the project teams to determine the deviation cause while entering new forecast in the ANDRITZ Project Information System tool;
•    Contribute to minimize the Gross Margin Erosion by implementing process compliance and improvement;
•    Provide inspirational leadership to the organization's leaders, encouraging them to become players in the continuous improvement process.

Administrative tasks:
•    Contribute to the success of the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment department;
•    Work towards achieving the department’s annual goals & objectives (G&O);
•    Prepare the resource planning for the department with the QHSE Regional Director;
•    Develop the Continuous Improvement team and perform evaluation of employee(s) under direct supervision;
•    Train and develop continuous improvement skills of employees in the organization in collaboration with the HR department and the other managers.

•     7 to 10 years of pertinent professional with focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement, or process management;
•    Experience as ISO 9001 auditor combined with a deep understanding of the company needs;
•    Degree in technical, administrative, or economical discipline, or other relevant university training;
•    Strategic mindset paired with excellent facilitation skills and abilities to lead change;
•    Strong experience with the application of improvement methods and tools preferably in an international company;
•    Deep knowledge and experience in process management, continuous improvement (Lean or Sig Sigma Black Belt or equivalent, and change management);
•    Extensive knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques and experienced facilitator;
•    Data analytics advanced skills;
•    Experience in project management;
•    Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English and strong communication skills;
•    Confirmed leadership with a proven record of mobilizing communication combined with a high level of motivation;
•    Excellent management skills with demonstrated level of engagement;
•    Flexible with a great understanding of business operations requirements;
•    High organizational skills;
•    High level of capability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
