SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

ST. JOHNS, NL

JOB DESCRIPTION:

HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Systems Administrator on behalf of our Client, MMSB (Multi-Materials Stewardship Board).

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Systems Administrator is responsible and accountable for the administration of all IT operations within the organization. The role offers IT support and Systems Administration mainly to the Used Beverage Container Recycling Program as well as acting as a general IT Support Specialist to the rest of the organization. The position also acts as a support and integral liaison for external vendors and IT firms.

This is a full-time position, located in St. John’s, NL.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Systems Administration

  1. Maintains the accuracy and integrity of MMSB’s computerized financial and inventory control database for the Used Beverage Container Recycling Program, Used Tire Recycling Program, Trust Fund Program, school and other MMSB programs.
  2. Acts as the subject matter expert on the integration of MIS (Bluecan - using MySQL Workbench) and CRM (Sage) systems, i.e. Discusses system backend details on a finite level to outline work scope for vendors such as Yellow for Bluecan to ensure information passed to MIDAS is correct.
  3. Liaises with external IT vendors to deliver plans and possible solutions for implementation and process improvements to internal systems. These core systems comprise MMSB’s management information and accounting systems and support the Used Beverage Container Recycling Program, Used Tire Recycling Program, Trust Fund Program.
  4. Develops SQL queries using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and designs Crystal reports that are used for operational and analytical purposes across all divisions of the organization.
  5. Provides change management support and helps coordinate MIS system changes and improvements and performs user acceptance testing before implementation.
  6. Facilitates the systems used by the Used Beverage Container Recycling Program’s payments to depot network. This includes data imports and data validation.
  7. Troubleshoots technical issues with CRM during offsite visits to processing plant as well as fuel surcharge data entry.
  8. Responds and provides help desk support to processing center staff, along with external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system integration / hardware issues.
  9. Maintains MMSB internal IT systems including Office 365 for email and productivity software, computer hardware setup and maintenance along with server management and general technical support for all MMSB staff.
  10. Troubleshoots Office 365 software issues as well as focuses on system integration issues between MIS and CRM programs.
  11. Analyzes Excel data, performs systems integration, administration of programs, user accounts, e-mail, troubleshooting general computer issues and managing servers and network issues in consultation with contracted IT vendors.
  12. Performs computer hardware and software installs as well as server maintenance.
  13. Acts as administrator for online banking and is responsible for setup of new users and assignment of user permissions approved by the Director of Corporate Services.
  14. Provides desktop support and setup for new users including setup of user accounts, complete setup of computers for staff members, setup of staff email accounts, and creation of CRM and ERP (Sage 300) accounts and appropriate permissions (as approved by the Director of Corporate Services).

Quality Assurance and Program Support

  1. Works closely with MMSB Senior Systems Analyst, Accounting Clerk, Used Beverage Container Field Operations Officer, Director of Corporate Services, along with external vendors to ensure data accuracy in systems, and collaborates with above stakeholders to elicit and implement business and IT requirements of integrated systems.
  2. Provides formal recommendations to the Field Operations Officer (Beverage Program) to address systemic operational issues with Green Depots as well as Transportation and Processing contractors.
  3. Liaises with staff and vendors to remedy errors and issues within CRM and other systems and programs.
  4. Maintains QA reports to communicate discrepancies to relevant Green depots.
  5. Assists with the preparation of beverage statistics to Senior Management and the Board.
  6. Creates and maintains CRM reports for financial analysis by accounting staff, Director of Corporate Services, External Auditors, Green Depots and Transportation and Processing contractor.
  7. Provides administrative and technical support to MMSB’s Compliance Auditor with respect to revenue assurance activities, including creation of new report templates in CRM to assist Compliance Auditor in planning and executing audits.

General

  1. Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Business and/or Computer Studies with major course work in Computer Science.
  2. An equivalent level of education and progressive or related work experience.
  3. Minimum of 3-5 years of previous or related experience.
  4. Experience with a technical background as it relates to the knowledge of SQL, Microsoft operating systems, Crystal Reports, Windows server management, HTML, Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel, database management.
