Salary Range: $64,527 - $83,888 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Associate Vice-Provost of Centre for Learning Futures, the Director, Finance & Operations is a member of the executive organizational team. This position provides financial expertise, leadership and strategic direction within the Finance & Operations division and will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial and People & Culture tasks.
- Create budgets for the revenue expectation and align budgets with the target for which Learning Futures.
- Analyse financial data to providing direction and support.
- Make recommendations, maximize use of funds, and ensure overall operations work within the budget.
- Ensure compliance with legal, financial, CRA Regulations and UNB requirements.
- Prepare financial reconciliation statements, invoices, and reports for partners,
- Complete fiscal budget year-end statements, mid-year reviews, and fiscal forecasts for the entire portfolio.
- Complete detailed information during audits as requested.
- Aid in the administration policies to ensure the integrity of Learning Futures.
- Provide financial and administrative advice to the Assistant Vice-Provost, Executive Directors, and Directors.
- Support staff and unit heads with financial protocols and strategic decision-making.
- Utilize strategies and financial dashboards to serve as the Centre for Learning Futures representative on various internal committees with relation to the development of new products or services.
- Manage the human resource functions at the Centre for Learning Futures.
- Manage the coordination of all recruitment activities with staff, including job descriptions, interviews, completing the hiring process.
- Advise Directors, Managers and Supervisors about hiring processes, handling difficult conversations and collaborate with People & Culture for higher level disciplinary actions.
- Ensure payroll deadlines are met with timesheets, full-time employees and contracts.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a financial leadership position.
- Experience in a supervisory position implementing budgets and financial programs.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- A professional accounting/financial management designation (CPA, CMA, etc.) is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of financial and business analysis (ROE & RE) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in Financial Analysis, forecasting, and fund accounting in a large multi-departmental organization is considered a strong asset.
- Experience supervising in a unionized/non-unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with current accounting practices is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in education, medical or other highly skilled professional environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function effectively as a member of a senior management team.
