Job description
Join our Vancouver government client on an initial 12-month contract as they seek a skilled contract Business Analyst to support their Project Management Information System (PMIS), e-Builder. Responsibilities
• Elicit, analyze, and document business and integration requirements for the e-Builder software.
• Facilitate problem solving discussions and general communications between business and technical teams.
• Create related deliverables including process flows, business requirements document, requirements traceability matrix, work breakdown structure, high-level design documents, test plans, reports, and dashboards.
• Help clients and other stakeholders with change management in work processes.
• Work with the technical team to develop and implement solutions that meet the business requirements.
• Provide technical expertise for possible system integrations.
• Help implement and configure the e-Builder solution.
• Act as project manager when applicable.
• Support the planning phase of the PMIS corporate implementation.
Qualifications
• University graduation at the Bachelor's level in computer sciences, business, or engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of problem definition and analysis related to business processes and systems planning.
• Knowledge with PMIS functionality, configuration, application architecture, and best practices.
• Considerable knowledge of project management and business analysis.
• Considerable knowledge of information technology components, processes, and application development life cycle.
• Strong ability to document, analyze and assess information from various sources, identify priorities and resources and propose alternative business processes.
• Proven experience in software testing and test plan development.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and project management principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, SaaS solutions, system integration and workflow technology.
• Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with e-Builder or similar PMIS software is an asset.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) designations are an asset.
In addition, this position requires the ability to:
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external contacts.
• Provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, although direction will be given.
• Maintain confidentiality.
