Reporting to the Manager, Community & Indigenous Affairs, the Analyst, Community & Indigenous Affairs will have the opportunity to cultivate positive relationships with Cenovus’s Indigenous partners and external collaborators within the Lloydminster/Saskatchewan region. The successful candidate will work closely with the functions of corporate social investment, Indigenous business engagement and communications to support various initiatives sought at promoting community engagement and economic development. The ideal candidate would hold some knowledge towards social investment and/or Indigenous engagement.

Work Environment:
This position is in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
What you’ll do:
Contribute to the organization of engagement activities, such as public information events, virtual meetings and community events.
Support community and Indigenous engagement with regards to regulatory applications to meet best practices and ensure Cenovus receives approvals in support of capital and operating programs.
Actively participate and support the recruitment process specific to the Indigenous Internship Field Program.
Manage relationships and assist in the evaluation of select not for profit partnerships/social investments within the Lloydminster and greater Saskatchewan region.
Assist in the implementation and management of long-term agreements held with Indigenous communities adjacent to Cenovus’s Saskatchewan operating region.
Participate in company meetings with Indigenous groups as required.
Assist in the preparation of briefings and materials for external community audiences.
Support the Community and Indigenous Affairs team and the Indigenous business development lead on compiling Indigenous business information, including but not limited to Indigenous contractor listings, and business spend reporting.
Support activation relating to Cenovus social investment programs and sponsorships housed in the Lloydminster/Saskatchewan region with an intention towards elevating the Cenovus brand.
Provide support and guidance to internal groups relating to various social investment priorities and community (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) based initiatives.
Managing requests for support within Cenovus’s internal social investment (Benevity) platform.
Assist in the outreach efforts, development and maintenance of relationships with key Indigenous communities.
Who you are:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Possess a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant, cumulative experience in Indigenous engagement, community investment or community engagement.
Skilled in project management; exemplary organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize for impact and manage multiple initiatives at once.
Creative, critical and strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills to work across teams and functions internally and with a cross section of external partners.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Must possess solid communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with care and discretion, and a keen ability to listen.
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
The following will be considered an asset:
Familiarity with the energy industry.
Experience working with Indigenous communities.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
