Job description
Manage the relationship with customers and program team, responsible for ensuring the overall success of a program including interfacing with internal/external disciplines including Engineering, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and Purchasing, Coordinate and support program activities as needed
Support program team in successful project development during all phases of APQP process, follow company's APQP system and complete all assigned deliverables
Coordinate all activities for primary and secondary tooling from RFQ to tooling qualifications / verifications as per the company build spec
Participate project meetings and update tooling progress status and vendor communication
Perform OK-to-Tool design review for primary and secondary tooling with vendor and program team and coordinate approval process, capital budget management
Support preparing PFMEA, PPAP and capability studies, conduct OTS and final buy-off including Burst Builds / Run-at Rate
Manage EBOM and implement Engineering Changes both pre & post- production including part level update, physical tooling change and follow-up with customer
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives / VAVE activities, process flows, work instructions
Craftsmanship- AAR (Pre and post grain approval), color & harmony- Manage part compliance/revisions, support in resolving quality concerns
Understand customer packaging requirements and conduct packaging studies as well as prepare implementation plan
Support Process Engineering through work cell layout design, time and motion studies, Line balancing activities
Lead Design for Manufacturability (mfg. feasibility) (material/tooling/process)
Dimensional Management- Gage design/builds/qualification/verification
International Materials Data System (IMDS) certification
Support plant Quality, Process Engineering and Customers for all CAD related inquiries, proposals and engineering changes/quotes
Experience
Working knowledge of CATIA V5 or Solidworks
Experience preparing with APQP, PFMEA and PPAP
Proficient in MS Office
Blowing molding process knowledge and experience would an advantage
Excellent knowledge of Tooling design, qualification and materials
Have worked with an OEM like Ford, Toyota, GM, FCA would be an asset
