Designed to meet the needs of multiple events, Nova Scotia's Halifax Convention Centre offers over 120,000 square feet of flexible event space in the heart of downtown. The Halifax Convention Centre is part of the Nova Centre, a million-square-foot, mixed-use development that includes a hotel, office towers, and retail space. It is the largest integrated development project in the province's history.


THE POSITION:

The Halifax Convention managed by Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Business Development Lead (one year contract) with our Sales team.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Business Development Lead manages the research and lead generation function for the international conference market and is responsible for development and continuous building of a qualified prospect list. This position is responsible for qualifying prospective sources of business, prospecting and cultivating relationships with potential clients and delivering qualified leads to the sales team. They are required to research and qualify potential local ambassadors or champions from the community that are candidates to support a Halifax bid for their respective association's meeting(s)and are responsible for ensuring regular database updating and reporting within the organization's information system. Given the nature of the role the individual should be eligible to work in Canada but does not have to be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, remote work is an option. Travel may be required based on outbound and inbound sales opportunities.
