At BC Transit, the minimum annual salary for a Mechanic is $96,990. Mechanics have the ability to make additional money through various shift premiums and overtime.   Additionally The minimum annual employer-paid benefits equates to $16,714 per year, These employer-paid benefits include dental, extended health, long-term disability, an employee bus pass, and pension contribution.

What you'll be doing...

Mechanics at BC Transit currently work a compressed work schedule of 4 ten-hour shifts with 3 consecutive days off. Shift schedules are Monday-Thursday, Tuesday-Friday and Friday-Monday days and nights. We are open from 04:30am to 02:30am.

 

Under the direction of Maintenance Supervisors or designated Tradespersons, will inspect, troubleshoot, test, repair and perform maintenance on BC Transit’s fleet, which includes brake systems, suspension, engines, hydraulics, electrical, air conditioning, fuel systems, transmissions and driveline components. Will be required to identify and order parts as well as rebuild components and change off buses needing repairs as required.
