Job description
Tacten is currently recruiting for a Field Safety Advisor to support our Syncrude site in the Fort McMurray area. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.
Position Information
- Responsible for the supervision, coordination, and administration of safety on project site(s).
- Responsible for carrying out inspections and audits of the workplace.
- Proactively promote our safety culture through toolbox meetings, and safety awareness.
- Knowledge of applicable safety rules and regulations; and be an effective negotiator, that uses logic and reason to persuade and influence others to find the solutions that everyone will accept.
Position Requirements
- NCSO Professional certification.
- OHS Certification would be an asset but not required.
- 2 to 3 years experience in a field safety-related discipline.
- Heavy industrial operations experience is an asset.
- A proven track record in participation of safety management processes e.g. safety committees and working groups and heavy industrial auditing and inspection experience.
- You are an excellent planner, organizer, with refined interpersonal and communication skills and have demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft Office software.
- Local to Fort McMurray or able to fly out of Alberta Hubs (FIFO) Calgary and Edmonton
- 7/7 rotation, 12hrs/day at straight time
- Long-term maintenance position
