Position Overview
This is an exciting time for Manitoba health care. Manitoba’s health system is currently in transition with changes aimed at improving the quality, accessibility and efficiency of health care services throughout Manitoba.
As part of the Shared Health Workforce team, the Wellbeing Center of Expertise will develop, implement and evaluate a multi-year “made in Manitoba” provincial workplace wellbeing strategy to instill a holistic culture of wellbeing, psychological safety, belonging, equity, and meaningful connection through five inter-dependent pillars: People First, Instill Belonging, Foster Purpose, Inspiring Leaders, and Intentional Organizational Action.
MAIN FUNCTION
Reporting to the Manager, Provincial Wellbeing, the Wellbeing Leader will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies that will promote the holistic wellbeing of the healthcare workforce. The goal of these initiatives will be to build provincial capacity in responding to crisis, promoting recovery, fostering awareness of mental health supports, and enabling wellbeing along a continuum. As part of a provincial team and within the designated service delivery organization, the incumbent will serve as a role model and change agent for the organizational culture and vision of workplace wellbeing by leading day-to-day activities that support the provincial wellbeing strategy, including providing psychological supports, education, and training to the healthcare workforce. A key component of this role will be to support the implementation and delivery of a Critical Incident Stress Response Program across a full continuum of services. The incumbent will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including Service Delivery Organizations, Occupational and Environmental Safety & Health (OESH), Shared Health, Manitoba Health, and other health providers.
