Salary Range: $83,228.60 - $90,035.40 Annually

Position Highlights:
As a technology leader you will showcase your skills in delivering, developing, and maintaining the Oracle and MS SQL Server platform as a primary role in an enterprise environment.
This intermediate level Systems Database Administrator works with application and system/service owners to gather requirements needed to design, implement, and facilitate change in the Oracle and MS SQL Server Database environments.
The focus of this position is operational and project support work, in addition to technology planning with the team, architecture, and external vendors.
Typical responsibilities in this role include:
- The installation, configuration, and patching of the company's enterprise Oracle and MS SQL Server Database platforms;
- Design, implement and maintain database security to ensure the highest standards to availability, resilience, integrity and performance across the company's internal system;
- Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets;
- Work as technical lead to provide subject matter expertise on the relational database's performance and capacity, security, and database infrastructure design;
- Provide consultation, estimation, database design options based on business requirements, assess technical feasibility and creating the solution;
- Manage database use and licensing ensuring compliance;
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Position Requirements:
To make an immediate contribution in this role, you will bring:
- An University degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Engineering or any other relevant field;
- A minimum of five plus (5+) years of experience as a database administrator with Oracle and MS SQL Server databases in a mid to large size enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated Oracle and MS SQL Server database technical skills, including an understanding of backup, recovery, maintenance, and support of high availability technologies (Oracle and Microsoft);
- Superior knowledge of database monitoring/system management methods;
- Proven ability to lead technical projects with demonstration of sound organization and planning skills;
- Ability to collaborate and consult with various IS colleagues, management, business areas, and vendors is required in support of cross-workgroup initiatives;
- Proven experience with one or more of the following Operating Systems - SuSe Linux, Oracle Linux, Redhat Linux, and Windows, would be an asset;
- PostGRES SQL, MySQL, Sybase database administrator experience would considered to be an asset;
- Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Interface (OCI), Exadata and ZDLRA would also be an asset;
- Knowledge of current data management and analytics trends like Big Data, Hadoop framework and MapR solutions would be an asset;
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Work arrangements defined:
- Resident - you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled workdays.
- Hybrid 8 - you will work a minimum of 8 days per month at your primary in-office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
- Hybrid 10 - you will work a minimum of 10 days per month at your primary in-office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
- Mobile - you will work remotely or in the field on scheduled workdays within British Columbia, with the requirement to be at your primary on-site headquarters by exception only.
