Job description

International School of English–Is currently seeking experienced enthusiastic ESL teachers starting the beginning of April 2024 school year. ISE is a reputable English language school with a history of 27 years serving the local community. We have two beautiful schools located in the Yokohama suburbs at Aobadai and Tama Plaza stations. Both Schools are located on the Denentoshi express line, just 30 minutes from Tokyo and Central Yokohama. 
Candidates must be native English speakers, hold a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited university and have at least one year of teaching experience.  We are seeking teachers that have the ability and skill set to teach adults as well as young learners from K-12. Strong consideration will be given to candidates holding a CELTA/TESOL/DELTA certificate holder and or teachers holding traditional teaching credentials/licenses. We are also seeking teachers that have a strong technical teaching background in academic subject-based lessons and feel comfortable teaching academic English in History, Science, Social Studies, English literature and Math. Teaching Candidates should possess the following: Soft skills - Personal qualities should include a positive attitude, professional demeanor and appearance, flexibility and the ability to work as a member of a closely-knit team. Teaching candidates must have a strong work ethic and take pride in their profession and appearance as teachers. Candidates should be outgoing, communicative and energetic. This position requires a great deal of responsibility as well as a high work ethic.
Teaching repertoire and skill set for teachers should include the ability to teach student centered lessons focusing on independent narrative, phonics, role-play as well as games and activities that re-enforce TL (target language being taught). Our teaching methodology is student centered and focused on independent output.
Please take note, we are seeking teachers that are enthusiastic about teaching children yet have the sophistication and experience to deliver academic based lessons to returnees and children that are enrolled in full English immersion courses at their current schools. We cater to a great many students that have lived abroad and require Academic subject-based lessons. Teaching   responsibilities include: Teachers must be able to give clear, focused and challenging lessons to a wide variety of students. Establishing a rapport with your students and creating a lesson dynamic that encourages the student to excel and achieve their individual goals. We do a great deal of test preparation for students challenging the following – TOEFL, SAT’s, ACT’s, IELTS, EIKEN, TOEIC. We are seeking teachers that have strong writing background in order to assist students with essays and writing projects that are required by many overseas universities and schools. Hard skills 
- Charting the student’s progress and performance. - Communicating with the other staff members, as well as the School Managers, Head or Lead teachers, regarding students’ progress and modifications o custom lesson plans. - Assisting with curriculum development and lesson planning - Text book trials and Student evaluations - Attending monthly staff meetings - Participation in in-house trainings and teaching workshops
Benefits and Remuneration: Starting compensation ranges from 250,000 to 280,000 yen a month depending upon experience, qualifications and references. We are also able to offer performance completion bonuses as well as bonus holidays for applicants that show outstanding work performance and commitment. Additionally, we offer 30 days paid vacation days including national holidays. 
We offer paid training, provide full visa sponsorship and can provide assistance with securing housing through our extensive network of housing agents and realtors. Take note that housing and relocation costs are the sole responsibility of the teacher. We are seeking applicants that are interested in moving up the ladder and becoming managing teachers so we do promote staff internally based on work ethic, capability and commitment. Teaching contracts are one year with the option to renew annually.
