Job description
Description: A Data Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and standards, protecting the privacy rights of individuals, and managing data privacy risks within an organization.
Responsibilities- Developing and implementing data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA.
- Conducting privacy impact assessments (PIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks associated with data processing activities.
- Managing data subject requests, including access requests, deletion requests, and consent management.
- Providing guidance and training to employees on data privacy requirements and best practices.
- Serving as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and data subjects regarding data privacy matters.
Qualifications- Strong understanding of data protection laws, regulations, and standards.
- Experience in data privacy compliance, risk management, or related fields.
- Knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies and practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) are highly desirable.
