Job description


The Labour Market Intelligence (LMIntel) Unit of the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Policy Analyst in Regina. Working with a high-performing team in a complex environment that requires innovative thinking and creative problem-solving, you will support the implementation of the LMIntel Unit mandate to provide meaningful and actionable insights to help align the Ministrys programs and services with the changing needs of the Saskatchewan economy and labour market.

Reporting to the Director, Labour Market Intelligence, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading research and data analytics projects that draw actionable insights to inform policy, planning and program development;
- Researching, analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing economic and labour market data from a variety of sources to identify trends and impact that help inform policy/program development, budgetary and planning processes, workforce development strategies, and program/service delivery;
- Preparing briefing notes, presentations, reports and other related - materials in clear and concise language;
- Managing research projects and contracts through the various stages of planning, development, implementation, evaluation and follow-up; and
- Providing policy and economic expertise, advice on committees, projects, and initiatives within the ministry, across government and with key stakeholders.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above are obtained through graduate level studies in economics, statistics, public policy, public administration or any other related field, plus three to five years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.
