POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and assisting with the supervising of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Supervisor coordinates and plans the maintenance activities at the Dundas, Ontario location. This position is responsible for creating maintenance schedules and plans for equipment and machinery and helping in the development and prioritization of maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and uptime. Another key job task will be assisting, in coordination with various departments, to schedule planned maintenance activities, minimizing production downtime. The ideal candidate will maintain records and documentation related to maintenance activities, including work orders and maintenance history. General Supervision and guidance of unionized maintenance team as required.
SCHEDULE: Rotating shifts Days Evenings and Weekends, overtime as required-Will be on call as well

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Equipment Inspection and Assessment: Regularly inspect machinery and equipment to identify issues and maintenance needs and assess the condition of equipment and determine when maintenance or repairs are required. Collaborate with maintenance employees to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Supervision and Team Leadership: Supervise maintenance team and provide guidance, training, and support. Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed by the maintenance team.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts and materials necessary for maintenance tasks and coordinate with procurement and supply chain departments to ensure the availability of required parts and supplies.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control maintenance-related expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the maintenance department and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Communication: Communicate maintenance plans and schedules to relevant stakeholders and collaborate with other departments, such as production or engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Problem Solving: Analyze equipment performance and diagnose issues to develop solutions and respond to unexpected breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance metrics and generate reports on maintenance progress, costs, and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and implement best practices and optimize maintenance strategies to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:
- 3 Years experience in manufacturing with a mechanical background
- 4 to 7 Years Supervisory experience
- 2 Years experience working with CMMS
- HACCP or CFIA experience
- 4 to 7 years experience having worked with a union
- Preference will be given to candidates with a College diploma in technology or related fields
- Preference will be given to ticketed candidates
- Experience in a facilities management, manufacturing, or maintenance planning role with demonstrated leadership skills considered an asset
- Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with technology, reporting, analytical platforms
- Mechanical aptitude to identify mechanical/electrical components for sourcing and procurement
- Experience in client facing or site support roles including technical consulting
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide innovative solutions
- Must be adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize, with good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills at all levels, high attention to detail and professional
- Knowledge of GMPs, food safety development and health & safety requirements
- Experience in a food or rendering environment considered an asset but not required
