Job Description: The Regional Dietitian is responsible for providing consultative, counseling, teaching and education services to individuals, community groups, health professionals and other professional groups to improve and protect the nutritional status of the regional population. She/he is also responsible for clinical nutrition assessment and intervention including formulating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nutritional care plans for those in hospital and within the health region.
Required Qualifications
Registered or eligible for registration with Dietitians of Canada
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or equivalent and completion of a dietetic internship which is accredited by Dietitians of Canada and which includes a clinical component.
Valid Saskatchewan Driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team based, multi-disciplinary program
Ability to work independently and in a self-motivated manner, ability to respond under pressure
Commitment to community-based delivery of health care services and knowledge of other community-based services
Demonstrated knowledge related to diabetes and related chronic diseases
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Engage in ongoing professional development and professional networking.
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, environmental and cultural issues in food and nutrition
Must demonstrate sound judgment in assessing, analyzing and implementing nutritional care plans
Strong computer skills (word processing, data entry)
Strong oral and written communication
