Job description

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Process Engineer for a well established client of ours in the Vancouver area. Working as part of our clients strategic technical team, the Sr. Process Engineer will oversee multiple phases of project execution, including definition, design, construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively as a part of a multi-discipline project team to deliver superior results.
• Responsible for engaging with key internal stakeholders including Process Engineering, Planning and Operations to ensure adequate owners input into process deliverables for each project phase.
• Consult with internal/external subject matter experts to resolve project issues and assure process safety, reliability and operability in design.
• Perform quality reviews of Process Engineering deliverables throughout the project.
• Lead or participate in project reviews and stewardship including: Design Reviews, Process Hazard Analyses, Management of Change.
• Mentoring, coaching and guiding junior process engineers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to personal and process safety.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
• 15-20+ years’ process/project experience is required in a related position in oil refining and/or petrochemicals.
• Previous experience on major capital projects with TIC costs >$250M is preferred.
• Operating plant experience is essential.
• Candidates with PMP certification is preferred.
• Strong team-player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• An effective problem solver, and ability to effectively handle several tasks/projects concurrently.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as P.Eng. is required.
