Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Manager/Director to lead our client's business growth efforts in the construction, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing industries in Edmonton, Alberta, and surrounding areas. This role requires a proven track record in generating new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and driving revenue growth in highly competitive markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1 . Business Development Strategy:
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to penetrate the construction, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
Identify new market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive threats to drive business growth.
Collaborate with senior management to define target markets, set sales goals, and establish key performance indicators (KPIs).

2. Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to understand their needs and preferences.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on industry trends, best practices, and innovative solutions.
Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure long-term partnerships and contracts.

3. New Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and networking activities.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential clients, market segments, and emerging trends.
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to secure new business contracts.

4. Sales Pipeline Management:
Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate reporting.
Track and analyze sales metrics, including pipeline growth, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts, to drive informed decision-making.
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.

5. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to drive individual and team success.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the business development team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with a focus on the construction, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing industries.
Proven track record of success in generating new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets.
Strong network of contacts within the construction, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing industries in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective business development strategies.
Experience leading and motivating a high-performing sales team, with a focus on driving results and fostering professional development.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to demonstrate past achievements and experiences as a high-performing target achiever.
