Primary Objective: Responsible for maintaining operations in the Printer-Coater Room, as well as supporting the facilities team. This Engineering Technician Team Lead will support the Facilities team in the repair and preventive maintenance of facilities equipment and be responsible for the integration of new equipment as needed. 

Major Function and Scope:

Optimize Printer-Coater Work Center:

• Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Monitor and reacts in a timely manner to unplanned downtime events.
• Develop and ensure implementation of preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Use machining, fabricating, welding, electrical and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
• Utilize internal tracking system to analyze maintenance activities and ensure adherence to maintenance programs.
• Ensure that all documentation on upgrades or modifications to production equipment is complete and accurate.
• Become proficient with printer to minimize service calls with Durst.
• Support design team with file modifications when needed.

Support TPM of all Garner Work Centers:

• Be present at start of all TPM events.
• Take an active leadership role during weekly TPM events. When personal work is complete, assists other technicians with their remaining work.
• Take an active leadership role in calling attention to defects and writing work orders. Prioritize work order generation and lead by example.
• Fill in as acting TPM lead as needed when assigned Line Lead is not available for TPM event.

Support Facilities Team:

• Develop proficiency facility related equipment and assist with repair or maintenance tasks that require additional resources.
• Take part in completing Facilities inspections.
• Analyze operational problems, evaluate resources requirements (both internal and external), and communicate with management in executing repairs quickly, accurately, and effectively.
• Work on related projects as assigned – including expansion, retrofits, upgrades, etc., and may serve as project manager and technical expert.
• Collaborate with other workers in the repair or removal of machines, machine parts, or minor electrical devices.
• Participate in Maintenance On-Call Weekend Rotation
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervisor
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Knowledge, Experience, Certifications:

• 5+ years’ experience in an automated industrial setting as a Production Technician or similar.
• 2-year associate degree in applied technology in Industrial/Manufacturing or related field and/or equivalent experience
• PLC programming experience
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic/hydraulic circuits and equipment.
• 5+ years’ experience in electro-mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Competencies:

• Able to read and write technical documents and specifications
• Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures
• Apply knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:

Ability to travel as required.  Must be able to walk long distances, climb on machinery and stand for long periods of time.  Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.  Must also be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.  Work environment is a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
