Mèreon is a new French Bistro in West Vancouver. It is a vibrant and innovative restaurant dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. We take pride in our commitment to quality, creativity, and a passion for delivering memorable dishes to our guests. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team lead by Chef Emmanuel Joinville.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Line Cook with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the culinary industry. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and possess creative plating skills to enhance the visual appeal of our dishes. The Line Cook will play a crucial role in contributing to the preparation and execution of our diverse menu items while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow during service, contributing to the timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
Exhibit creative plating skills to enhance the visual presentation of dishes, aligning with our commitment to culinary excellence.
Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist in the preparation of mise en place, ensuring all ingredients are properly portioned, labeled, and ready for service.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate and communicate effectively during peak service times.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
Contribute to the overall success of the kitchen by taking on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook in a restaurant or culinary environment.
Culinary degree or equivalent training is a plus.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
Creative plating skills with a focus on presenting visually appealing dishes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
