JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Surveyor / Civil Engineering Technician.
Reporting to the First Line Manager, this position is responsible to work in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, to maintain, verify and update OPG’s network of benchmarks and survey control points. In this role you will have the unique ability to maintain current operational and theoretical expertise in applicable systems, software, and techniques within the industry.
Additional responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating all areas of OPG’s Surveying instruments and equipment. The selected candidate will monitor, organize and manage survey operations, including topographic and bathymetric surveys, as well as, assist in various hydraulic field studies. The individual will maintain documents applicable to the work, carry out contract coordination, and prepare quality control procedures. Additional responsibilities may include inspecting and maintaining a variety of dam safety monitoring instrumentation
