Job description
Senior Paralegal
Our client is searching for Senior Paralegal to join their team in the Oil & Gas industry located in Downtown Calgary. The successful individual will possess a high attention to detail, high ethical standards, and have excellent, professional communication skills.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Perform standard paralegal functions.
- Prepare and draft legal documents.
- Manage the record books for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
- Provide general legal and administrative support to the legal department and corporate services.
- Prepare board and committee agendas and provides materials for meetings.
- Maintenance of all legal policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintenance of legal entities in multiple jurisdictions across both Canada and the United States, including annual filings and returns, attorney for service requirements, resolutions, registrations, etc.
- Completes all TSX filings, insider trading reports and SEDI Filings.
- Maintains Director/Officer Share ownership records.
- Preparation and oversight of the management information circular and the annual general meeting process as requested.
- Facilitates and supports external auditor requests.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Your strengths include:
- Completion of post-secondary diploma in Legal Assistant is required.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience; additional office/administrative experience an asset.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Advanced level experience with Microsoft Word, Nitro, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of legal principles and procedures usually obtained through industry-sponsored courses and through experience, or on completion of a community college paralegal program.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and project a positive corporate image.
- Work well under pressure with competing demands.
- Commitment to the success of the organization, embracing a progressive attitude.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, logical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently on confidential matters and effectively prioritize tasks.
- Confident and professional communication skills.
