Job description
We are recruiting on behalf of Penn-co for a Senior Project Manager.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing and delivering corporate projects on time, within budget and in accordance with specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee construction projects from start to finish while monitoring compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Communicate and maintain reputable relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and the public.
- Lead and facilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish project reporting procedures while developing and monitoring the project schedule and budget.
- Understand and enforce contractual responsibilities, contract documents, and dispute resolution.
- Manage all change orders, including negotiating, processing, assessing cost as well as scheduling impacts and preparing claims.
- Prepare and monitor progress billings to the owner and from subcontractors.
- Review productivity planning while providing performance status reports regarding cost forecasts and schedules.
- Provide a professional management style that reflects the Penn-co image when communicating with all stakeholders.
- Build and foster a collaborative team environment with Project Coordinators and Superintendents.
- Supervise, mentor, coach, train and motivate the project team.
- Manage all aspects of project(s) close-out.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in project management or a relevant construction field is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction with a strong track record of leading successful projects exceeding $10 million in value.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand building blueprints, specifications, contract documents, etc, is required.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Proficient in various computer applications and software, including Microsoft Office programs, with a strong ability and willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, responsibilities and prioritize the workload appropriately.
- Self-motivated, ambitious and passionate about construction.
- Ability to problem solve with a can-do attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of construction methods, codes, and best practices in the construction environment.
- Travel is occasionally required.
