Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for a Project Architect to join their growing team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, committing to high quality innovative design on all. As the Project Architect you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types. This is a great opportunity to join a multifaceted and agile team with opportunity for growth. 

Your new role  

In your role, you will be playing an integral part in the success of the firm, through effective project leadership, innovative ideas, and nurturing of established relationships. You will be responsible for collaborating with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and plans, creating detailed construction documents, including plans, sections, and elevations, reviewing and approving contractor submittals, and respond to RFIs during the construction phase. You will conduct site visits to ensure that construction is progressing according to plans and specifications, prepare and administer contracts, including change orders, payment applications, and close-out documents, manage project budgets and timelines, and ensure that project goals are met.

What you'll need to succeed  

The successful candidate will have a professional degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university. Ideally you will possess 8+ years of local experience and have previous experience working on similar project typology to the firm. You will be proficient with the following platforms: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe & Sketch-Up. You will have excellent verbal and written communication – with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients (internal & external). You will possess sound knowledge of local buildings codes and bylaws. Registration, LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement.

What you'll get in return  

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $90,000 - $110,000 + bonus (based on performance) extended benefits, paid parking and flexible work hours.
