TELUS International (TI) is seeking a Finance Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting standards and processes operating in a multi-national environment, is organized and detail-oriented, a self-starter with an open-mind towards changes and process improvements, and can prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines.  The primary responsibilities for this role will focus on the monthly financial close process at the corporate head office, global consolidations, monthly P&L submission to our parent company (TELUS), intercompany transactions and eliminations, statutory and other compliance reporting, and other requirements that are expected from a key contributor in the head office team.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for the monthly close process for the Canadian and U.S. head offices, including the preparation and review of accounting journal entries and account reconciliations; collaborate with cross-functional business partners while leveraging inputs from multiple ERP systems
• Manage the global consolidation through coordinating with regional finance BU teams, including ensuring the accuracy and completeness of intercompany eliminations
• Partner closely with FP&A team to establish annual budget and monthly forecast and provide explanation for variances
• Act as a liaison with IT, Operations and other corporate departments on various projects, initiatives and process improvements impacting head office
• Review and verify the accuracy of payroll processing and commission calculations, and work closely with finance teams to resolve any discrepancies or inquiries
• Ensure the compliance of various Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls
• Responsible for various reporting requirements to our parent company
• Prepare and/or review the financial statements for various subsidiaries for the purpose of periodic legal entity Board meetings, audits, tax or other statutory requirements
• Drive ongoing process improvement projects to automate or optimize existing finance operations
• Support tax team requirements in preparation of monthly tax provision, annual tax returns, statutory financial filings, etc
• Support the broader Finance and Accounting team on ad-hoc projects as required

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 8+ years of experience in corporate accounting
• CPA designation or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of IFRS required
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and develop team members
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Workday) an asset
• Experience in a global business environment adhering to multiple stakeholders an asset
• Excellent accounting and analytical abilities
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter with high attention to detail and organized working style
• Ability to work collaboratively across regional and departmental functions

The ideal candidate will have excellent accounting knowledge, comfortable with multi-national ERP systems, is organized and detail-oriented, self-directed, and can prioritize multiple tasks with geographically-dispersed cross-functional stakeholders to meet competing deadlines. The primary responsibilities for this role will focus on the monthly close process at the corporate office and statutory financial reporting in support of various compliance requirements, but the role is expected to evolve and grow over time.
