Who We Are

Home Again Furniture Bank (Home Again) is a not-for-profit organization helping build pride in homes, self, and our community by providing gently used furniture to individuals and families in need. Our vision aims to eradicate furniture poverty on the Northeast Avalon. Why furniture? It provides our most vulnerable citizens with the means to create a stable home life with a focus on generating comfort, dignity, and stability so they can focus on what matters most.

Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, oversight, and governance for all aspects of Home Again’s operations, including the organizations financial stability and sustainability. They will work to develop a strong organization rooted in community that can effectively grow to meet the demands of those we serve. You advocate on behalf of those without furniture to key stakeholders, ensuring Home Again’s services and initiatives are well understood, prioritized, and highlights the benefits these services create within our region, ensuring we have a seat at the table to bring forward concerns, as well as solutions that will support Home Again’s initiatives.

As Executive Director, you will spend your time providing leadership and oversight in all aspects of running the successful operation of the organization including fiscal oversight and financial management , the development and implementation of the organizations strategic plan, and lobbying to government and other key stakeholders. As the most senior leader, you are responsible for leadership of the organization; providing direct supervision and support to staff to enable their success by ensuring they have the right tools, skills, training, and support to succeed in their role.

You are an influential leader who prioritizes collaboration, building a strong and unified team. Bringing your experience in change management, you have the skills to successfully lead through change, motivating and engaging your team by looking to the future success of Home Again, and the initiatives that can get us there. Utilizing your strong relationship building skills, you drive impactful relationships with community partners, government, and other key stakeholders to drive the overall level of support to the communities we serve and ensure we have a seat at the table.
