Job Description (E)
POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of a variety of engagement and communication activities; assisting with developing media content and with coordinating related Department activities; providing administrative and clerical support and assisting in preparing presentations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES
- Assists with preparing content for review by the Manager; schedules meetings and provides materials, as needed.
- Provides input on the design of material, as required, on behalf of project team.
- Assists staff in the development of customer communication materials.
- Coordinates the distribution of staff communications (e.g. newsletters, emails, posters etc.).
- Completes industry research, as required.
- Maintains an inventory of engagement and communication materials.
- Assists with developing social media content and coordinating evaluation reports for engagement and communication activities.
- Assists with development and implementation of surveys, contests, and tracking promotions.
- Assists in the coordination and development of presentations, as requested.
- Assists with community outreach functions, including event tracking and measurement of success, annually.
- Sources and obtains quotations on advertising.
- Assists in developing and measuring project key performance indicators.
- Provides ongoing support to management as needed.
- Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate.
- Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.
- Participates on committees, work groups, task forces and special projects, as assigned.
- Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards.
Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a Community College diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one (1) year demonstrated experience assisting in the coordination and implementation of marketing and communication activities, including the preparation, participation, and presentation of programs at various community events and promotions.
- Demonstrated experience working with various media outlets to promote events.
- Knowledge of communication or marketing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Demonstrated ability in the Region’s core competencies.
