Human Resources Manager – WHITEHORSE, YUKON
Pelly Construction Ltd. is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager who can help to grow and maintain an engaged workforce in our heavy civil projects.
Position Responsibilities :
- Manage full cycle recruitment including: Job descriptions, offer letters, interviewing, reference checking, and onboarding and orientation
- Development and implementation of human resources and company policies
- Provide HR support, advice and expertise to Site Superintendents and Supervisors in areas including: employee relations, staffing, attendance management, performance management, salary and benefits, training and development, disciplinary actions, interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures, and employment law
- Recommend and outline best practices for HR processes towards continuous improvement
- Identify internal and external employment issues/trends and provide recommendations on improvement
- Diploma or certificate in HR, Business or a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience working in earthmoving industry
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
- Understanding of human resources best practices in employee relations, performance management and organizational support including identifying risk and potential legal issues
- Demonstrated experience applying employment standards and labour legislation to practical employee situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to quickly learn other computer applications i.e. Outlook
- Strong predisposition towards efficiency and the ability to streamline and improve existing processes.
- Demonstrates a sense of responsibility, accountability, dependability and commitment to the organization.
- Can be relied upon to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
- Behaves ethically and with integrity.
