Job description

In addition to being a child protection helper, a Family Service Worker at Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services is a family’s champion, advocate and support person .

Who you are:

You are a compassionate person who genuinely wants to see families thrive. You have a Bachelor of Social Work, are working towards one, or you feel you possess the necessary skills and lived experience for this role. You have experience working alongside families in crisis. You are an excellent communicator who values openness, honesty and transparency. You are a problem solver who works collaboratively with others to develop effective solutions for families. You are knowledgeable about the child welfare system, including relevant provincial and federal legislation, and you are comfortable challenging the status quo for the betterment of Indigenous children, youth, families, communities and Nations.

*Note: Starting Salary is $68,934.04 – $83,083.03 plus all of the benefits listed below, with a total earning potential of $92,299.40 based on performance reviews.

About Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services:

Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag (Nog-dah-wen-mawg) (Bin-ooh-zhee-yug) Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services is a multi-service Indigenous Child Well-Being Agency. We provide a stable foundation for children, youth, and families, through wraparound services that are culturally based and family-focused. We obtained our mandate to seek Designation and to provide child protection services in our jurisdiction from our member Chiefs and Councils. ​We are an agency that delivers culturally-intelligent services to our partner First Nation communities in Ontario. With our team of dedicated staff, we work with children, youth, and families as early as possible to help them navigate various obstacles and access services available to them. We offer services such as Child & Youth Mental Health and Addictions, Youth Justice, Youth in Transition, Child Welfare, and Alternative Care.
