Job description

Job summary:
The incumbent will work within the Manufacturing Department in the following functional areas as assigned by the Manager: Stores, Incoming Inspection, and Shipping & Receiving. This position will be a member of the Bargaining Unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Picking and preparing kits for assembly of product, including verification against applicable documentation
- Checking drawing reference and obtaining drawings and correct parts/components and circuit boards required
- Inspection of purchased inventory items to Purchase Order and Quality requirements
- Perform required process, measurement & inspection for placing product in inventory or quarantine
- Perform cycle counts, materials control, adjustments, shipping & receiving transactions as required
- Documentation, packing and shipping of products, materials and equipment.
Complete timesheets and required product and process documentation
- Following all procedures and work instructions related to the position and verifying own work
- Other duties as assigned within the functional areas

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 2 years' experience in an electronics manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in printed circuit board assembly being preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists and other related documentation
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
- ERP/Inventory Control knowledge an asset
- Recognition of component configurations and familiarity with IPC placement standards preferred
- Experience in shipping/receiving fundamentals preferred
- Computer skills in MS Office Suite, ERP and shipping / receiving software preferred

REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person, on the phone and in writing
- Must be able to successfully complete company provided eye exam
- Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop
- Must be able to climb a stepladder at approximately three feet in height
- Frequent lifting and carrying – occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Must be comfortable using a computer
