Job : The Manager, Float Pool is a key leader in Saskatchewan health care, partnering with system leaders to achieve our province's healthcare goals. Reporting to the Director of Integrated Saskatoon Health - Acute Care, the Manager is responsible for creating operational lines of sight that connect to the goals and objectives of the SHA. The Manager supports strategy through the development and execution of operational and business plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction of same. The Manager demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture. The Manager must work cross functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations. The Manager will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners.
The Float Pool Manager oversees the nursing staff hired to float to specific nursing units within the hospital. The Float Pool Manager will provide mentorship, clinical leadership and support to all nursing staff and the patients they care for. The Manager plays an integral role in coordination of staffing and works closely with other nurse leaders, managers and care providers to support effective team based-care.
The Float Pool is comprised of RNs and LPNs. The manager is responsible for developing a clear reporting structure for members of the Float Pool and strategies to increase effective utilization of available staff, decrease premium pay, and increase recruitment and retention. The manager is also responsible for developing performance management processes and indicators, and staff training requirements to ensure high quality of care is provided to clients/patients/residents within the requirements of the collective bargaining agreements
