Job description

Our client is looking for a Project Manager, BI Implementations for an initial 6 month contract with strong renewal potential.

Ideal candidate is a senior Project Manager with strong BI and Agile projects background
(experience with BI implementations and migrations using Cognos, Power BI).
Experience running large BI data migration projects.

The project revolves around moving from Cognos reporting to Power BI.

This is a Technical PM role, must have a background in BI Architecture and BI tools, experience with Migrations and Data Lakes.

The role will involve coordinating various work streams, managing project timelines, and collaborating with global cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality acceptance criteria. Strong leadership skills, stakeholder managements, technical knowledge, and project management expertise are essential for this role.

Allocated to a sub-portfolio of projects, you will need experience of working within transformational change, operational change and have expertise of project recovery.


You will be managing change, in line with industry best practices and our in-house framework. Key projects will be comprising of ERPs, CRM BI (Microsoft Power BI) and local applications.

You will also need to able to demonstrate the successful management of project recovery in a remote working environment.

Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements.  Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project goals, and success criteria.
Budget and Resource Management
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely procurement of necessary resources and services.
Progress Management
Monitor project progress, budget, and resource allocation, and take proactive measures to address issues or risks.
Coordinate and manage multiple work streams to ensure smooth implementation across streams.
Risk and Issue Management
Identify and assess project risks and issues and develop mitigation and contingency plans. Implement appropriate risk management strategies to minimize the impact on project outcomes. Regularly monitor and communicate project risks and issues to stakeholders and escalate critical concerns to senior management when necessary.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams consisting of IT professionals, business analysts, developers, subject matter experts and end-users. Assign tasks/deliverables, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and provide guidance and support to team members. Conduct regular project team meetings, track progress, and provide timely status updates to team members.
Act as the liaison between process stakeholders, group, division, local team and IS partners to deliver and communicate project progress.

Vendor Management
Manage vendor relationships and monitor their performance to ensure adherence to project requirements and timelines.
Collaborate with vendors to address technical issues and resolve conflicts.
Quality Assurance and Testing
Coordinate testing activities, including test plan creation, test case development, and execution. Ensure proper documentation of test results, issue tracking, and resolution.
Stakeholder Management
Ensure effective communication and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular project status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
Governance
Establish and run effective steering meetings.
Active participation in Change Management process
Align to the governance and delivery framework.

Qualifications
•Proven experience as an IT Program/Project Manager, overseeing multiple sub projects simultaneously with 5-8 years in project management
•PMP certification preferred but not essential.
•Previous experience in the implementation of ERP systems or projects with significant technical deliverables.
•Previous experience of project recovery for ERP implementations within sales, engineering and manufacturing companies
•Considerable experience in aspects of the application development life cycle and broad understanding of current technology enablers.

•Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
•Ability to make good decisions and support company policies in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
•Ability to understand and apply best practices in software and service release and deployment.
• Must be self-motivated and client service oriented maintaining effective working relationships within a multi-cultural business environment.
•Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
