Summary of the role
As a member of the Protections & Controls Team, the main responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer, Control/Automation will be as follows:
- Responsible for the electrical engineering of the control/automation system;
- Develop the engineering plan in collaboration with the project manager;
- Carry out project engineering with the collaboration of the technical team (technicians, CPI and engineers);
- Coordinate/review progress with the technical team and the project manager;
- Check and seal the drawings as well as the technical documentation produced under his supervision;
- Participate in design review meetings with the client;
- Supervise the development of the documents necessary for the manufacture of electrical panels;
- Prepare and document system testing and validation procedures;
- Participate/supervise acceptance tests with the client;
- Monitor progress and support the electrical commissioning team;
- Participate/supervise final tests on site during recommissioning;
- Act as a mentor for junior engineers on other projects;
- Participate in calls for tenders.

- Bachelor degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering (Member of the OIQ);
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical design of control/automation systems;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
- Quality of leader and mentor, while working in a team;
- Experience in hydro power generation – an asset;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details;
- Proven ability in analyzing and solving technical problems;
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical - an asset;
- PLC and HMI programming, an asset;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
- Available for commissioning on site as required.
