About the Opportunity - Work closely with tax advisors on complicated Canadian returns and US tax returns
- Complete tax related forms
- Maintain a detailed schedule of tax reporting requirements ensuring that all entities are captured
- Oversee tax instalments ensuring that instalments are made on schedule
- Manage the tax compliance calendars, ensuring deadlines are timely met, reducing risk of non-compliance
- Prepare tax provisions under ASPE standards
- Liaise with tax authorities and prepare responses to audit queries
- Preparation of tax projections and budgets
- Work on special projects, acquisitions, and other re-organizations
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance to support stand-alone financial statement requirements, including notes to the financial statements
- Prepare Canadian income tax returns for Trust, Partnerships and Corporations and other Information returns like T106, T1134, T1135, UHT and Country-by-country reporting
- Prepare book-to-return true-up adjustments and tax entries
- Assist in long-term tax forecasting and annual tax expense budgeting
- Assist in tax research and planning assignments
- Oversee HST compliance and questions: work closely with accountants
- Respond to ad hoc tax queries and advise internal parties of tax implications on transactions as needed
About You - Degree in accounting or finance, along with a professional accounting designation
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive income tax experience in a Public Accounting Firm or from industry
- Degree in accounting or finance, along with a professional accounting designation (CPA preferred or MTAX)
Salary Range
$110,000 - $125,000/year
