It’s an exciting time to be at Aon! We are seeking a motivated person to join Aon as a Senior Broker. You will be working in a dynamic, growth-oriented role uncovering opportunities and bringing valuable technical and financial solutions to insurance company clients and colleagues in the Aon World.

This is a hybrid role primarily based in our Toronto office with the ability to work from home within Aon’s guidelines. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like Assist with the development of sales and marketing strategies designed to cultivate revenue generation opportunities Work as part of the Treaty broking team in prospecting and servicing insurers, reciprocals and captives Support opportunities resulting in new Treaty revenue Work as part of the Treaty broking team as well as other Aon Business Units Support the Treaty broking team leader by preparing reinsurance market submissions, responding to queries from reinsurers, evaluate quotations to determine recommended terms, drafting of client presentations and preparation of draft contract documentation Attend meetings and/or functions with clients, prospects and reinsurers, on a regular basis Moving forward with the Aon United agenda and delivering the best of our firm

How this opportunity is different As a valued member of the leading broking firm in Canada, the focus of this role is to work very closely with the Canadian Reinsurance Broking Team to assist in the servicing of existing property and casualty treaty clients as well as the development of new business opportunities to generate meaningful revenue. Skills and experience that will lead to success 5 or more years of experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar Commercial property and casualty underwriting background is preferred Professional demeanor and a positive attitude Effective communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients Effective organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and manage projects Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality and results Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound business decisions Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions Ability to embrace change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals Strong proficiency and working knowledge of MS Office suite of products with the ability to learn and use multiple software and system-based applications
