Job description
We are seeking to hire a full-time Structural Steel Draftsperson/Designer due to a healthy growth spurt and high volume of work. The job entails on-site dimensioning and verification, creation of detailed shop drawings of various fabrications and machined components, as well as mentoring junior mechanical designers.
The ideal candidate must have high proficiency in Solidworks, experience with Autocad or Draftsight, and be knowledgeable in industrial requirements for machine guarding, building code requirements for structural steel fabrication, and TSSA B31.1 and B31.3 piping code.
Applicants should possess a disciplined background in Mechanical Technology or be a licensed tradesperson with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable design environment.
The ability to work in teams on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules is required.
Applicants must have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to work from the Belleville location.
