Job description
The Moose Jaw Housing Authority is currently looking for a Tenant Relations Officer (TRO) to help applicants find their home, working with them throughout their time as tenants of the Moose Jaw Housing Authority.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Qualify, place applicants. Complete/explain the tenant lease agreement & associated documents.
-Work with MJHA teams to ensure prompt placement & attention to concerns of tenants.
-Complete annual income verification & lease renewals, complete rent reductions when required.
-Provide conflict resolution/mediation to tenants.
-Ensure effective communication - verbal & written - with all tenants, coworkers, public.
Our TROs are part of a multi-talented team of employees working together to serve our tenants and community.
The successful candidate will be an expert user of Microsoft apps, skilled in the use of internet-based apps, willing to learn and develop new skills. Well-developed math & analytic skills are required to apply procedural systems in our complex income-tested program.
They will understand community development theory/process while effectively representing the MJHA positively with partners. They will understand the Residential Tenancies Act, social housing, social programs, and services offered in our city. Empathy/compassion for our tenants & beyond while maintaining a strict, professional manner are a must, always ensuring complete confidentiality for our tenants & the MJHA.
The successful candidate will have a degree/diploma in a human services field, plus five (5) years experience; or an equivalent combination of education & experience. A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle for daily use, and a clean criminal record are also required.
