Wage: $50,000- $54,000, based on experience

SMR Accounting professional Corporation provides services including accounting, tax, bookkeeping, advisory, mergers & acquisitions, business due diligence & valuation in the Niagara Region and GTA. We are seeking an employee to join our team at our busy St. Catharines office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a high-volume role requiring a high level of attention to detail and have strong proficiency with computers with the ability to quickly learn.

Job Responsibilities

• Monthly full cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
• Post journal entries to reconcile accounts
• Performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
• Filing HST and WSIB and managing deadlines for assigned clients
• Compile and analyze accounting information to prepare financial reports
• Generate year-end trial balance and complete corporate year-end in CaseWare
• Prepare corporate and personal tax returns (T1& T2)
• Additional tasks assigned as required
• Willingness and ability to learn in fast paced environment
• Administrative tasks included but not limited to responding to client emails and phone calls in a professional and timely manner, maintaining files, managing the reception when needed
• Excellent time management skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment

Experience

• Must have QuickBooks experience of min 2 years (Required)
• Bookkeeping experience of min 2 years (Required)
• Nice to have a working knowledge of Cantax income tax preparation software
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
